Ted and Tahlia woke at 4 am on Thursday 6/25 in order to make their respective flights to Cusco. Unfortunately for the Logistics leader, TACA was having issues with its one daily Lima to Cusco flight (the problem being an question of weight balance) and his flight did not take off until well after even Peter and Chaylee (who had slept in) had made it to Cusco.
Exhausted, Ted took a long nap on arrival in Cusco at the Hotel Ninos II. Later that afternoon, he bumped into his group about a block from the Cusco Plaza de Armas, a moment which was captured in the picture on the left.
The rest of the day was spent acclimatizing with a light walk around the Plaza de Armas, afternoon mate de coca and pisco at the Monasterio Hotel, and a great dinner at an Italian trattoria (we needed simple food). We are all excited for the arrival of the rest of our group tomorrow morning.
